Refurbishment & Extension to Community Library

This Grade II listed building required comprehensive refurbishment and extension. As the main contractor, we provided temporary solutions to support the existing ceilings during construction, these were later removed and to enable us to remodel both internally and externally.

A new boundary wall and brick bin store were added, along with new library furniture and a state of the art automated borrowing system. Along with a fully refurbished space, we installed DDA compliant accessible toilets and access ramps.

The Children's Library area was also designed to be transformed into a multi-functional space to welcome community groups. Last but not least, offices were created upstairs for library staff.

Early collaboration with the Conservation Officer and Lewisham Council was imperative to ensure the preservation of the heritage elements on this project.

We were honoured to partake in the re-opening of the library which was attended by the local Mayor.
