Under a Design and Build (D&B) contract, we were instructed to transform a former Blockbuster store into a Wickes Kitchen express outlet, while simultaneously converting the space above into six high-end apartments. Access proved challenging due to the property's location on a bustling road adjacent to a large supermarket, creating a restricted and busy site environment. We mitigated any problems by early collaboration with trades and suppliers, ensuring that deliveries and site traffic was kept to a minimum during peak times of the day. This early planning also meant we could keep a structured programme, enabling the project to be completed on time and to budget.
